The Philippine archipelago has a very rich diversity of culture with 77 major ethnolinguistic groups (and about 244 subgroups), and foreign influences throughout its history of trading and occupation. This rich cultural diversity has also contributed to a vast scope in Philippine cultural astronomy. In line with our celebration of the Milky Way Star Festival, here are some of the interpretations of the Milky Way based on Philippine ethnoastronomy: The Milky Way is commonly known today to Filipinos as Ariwanas . The term originated in Cordilleran groups, with some variations like the Ariwanat of the Isneg or the Aggiwanas of the Kankanaey ...

Hello Astronomers Without Borders!! Our Group is called "Astronomia na Rua Santos" which was formed by Amateur Astronomers / Astrophotographers and Lovers of the Universe. We had an event on 04/15/22 in the beautiful city of Santos/SP where we live. Despite the high light pollution in our city, we went to the street with a Telescope, Binoculars and Camera. We bring Observational Astronomy and Astrophotography to the general public and of all ages. We observe the Moon and celestial objects. We won't be happy to register the Solar Eclipse, because here in Brazil it doesn't look like it. But let's follow through on social media. Thanks to AWB for encouraging groups ...

By Eden Orion and Masoor Ramizy Anyone who has known me for some time - knows that the practice of astronomy has brought me to all sorts of exciting places and things. The observation we held yesterday in Haifa was another high point in what this occupation has given me from time to time. About a year ago, I joined the Astronomers Without Borders. This Organization has set itself the goal of bringing people together on Earth through public astronomical activity. I became the "Israeli National Coordinator" in AWB. So I met many representatives from different countries, including those with whom we do not have official contacts. We hold a zoom meeting every month ...

This astro-music of "A Balloon's Journey" (Seasonal Constellations Version) 《春夏秋冬》(四季星座篇) was in memory of Leslie Cheung who was a famous Cantonese singer in Hong Kong.

Yesterday we had a visit in Linz from Suhel Ahmeti and his collegue Joseph Joe-Nicola from Kosovo. Suhel is the NC of Kosovo and together with his club at time he is preparing to renovate the old observatory from Prishtina. So he was very interested to hear about our outreach activities and running an public observatory. We organized a shortdated programm for our guests. So we visited together our little observatory "Kepler Sternwarte Linz". Of course we used our little NC-meeting for beating the drums for Global Astronomy Month 2022 ;-) Suhel gave to our President, Günther Martello, an interesting hospitality gift. The "Hyjnesha in Fron" ("She-god ...

Universe of Hopes December 2nd is celebrated in Brazil as the National Astronomy Day, a date that commemorates the birthday and birth of Dom Pedro II, the last emperor of Brazil, Dom Pedro was a great enthusiast of Astronomy and science in general. The first celebration was the brainchild of Professor Juan Bernadino, legendary director of the planetarium in Goiania, who lent us a project of his with a former director called music with the stars, the music with the stars project was a planetarium session with live music. As a Star Party we decided to name and theme the date of the National Astronomy Day and continue the legacy of Music with the Stars and from ...

Google pixel phones have an astrophotography mode that utilizes artificial intelligence to produce surprisingly good pictures of the night sky with just a click! The pictures have negligible noise and stunning clarity for the tiny sensor of a smartphone camera. Here I have attached some of the ones I took with my google pixel 4a 4G. All the photos I took in that area (Murbad, Maharashtra, India) can be found here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/TQ1cUdj57K8mtbma7.
