So far we had been filming Douglas Vakoch at the SETI Institute where he held the title ”director of interstellar message composition”. He decided to leave the Institute and start his own organization: METI International. METI stands for Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence and his new journey got a big start in May 2016 in Puerto Rico. There had been a lot of planning and stress. The doctor had even told Per not to drink more than one cup of coffee a day because of stomach pain. That's a hard thing to say to a Swede who is used to drink nine...

We were back. Driving our rental car through Sunnyvale on our way to Bernardo Avenue where the SETI Institute is located. Now it was all about getting closer and developing the storylines. We had shown the material from our first filming trip to the Swedish film commissioner and was granted more founding to be able to continue the filming. We had gotten great feedback on the project and felt ready to continue the journey. When we arrived at the parking lot at the Institute we were surprised. In a beautiful order Jill, Seth and Douglas car was parked with their...

One of our first documentary films was ”Autonomous”. In that film we wanted to capture the blurriness between what's real and what's not - through human like robots and virtual worlds in comparison with our own. Trailer for our previous film Autonomous. We came across SETI, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. We were thrilled! A cosmic investigation that are trying to answer one of the biggest questions for mankind,...

Back in July I had the pleasure to interview them to discuss the content of the documentary in greater details. Per and Alexander will continue presenting their work throughout October, posting updates on the development of their project'. Daniela de Paulis. Interview: I see that you have been spending time and interviewing some of...

This week I started a new series of paintings in my ‘eARTh from space' collection called “Sunrise and Sunset from Space”. I am so thankful now for the pictures and videos from my spaceflight. It is so surreal to think that I was actually there. I know I was there and I have vivid memories of particular things like floating and flying freely, and of course spending time soaking up the incredible view through the windows, but the memory of the overall experience is a little like a dream. One of the most visually stunning images and memories that sums...
