As part of the Global Astronomy Month, Astronomy Outreach conducted a public outreach program and a half night Star Party for the residents of Kabra Galaxy Star III, in Thane - thanks to Vivek Kulkarni -  on the evening of 7th April, 2018.

It was very well apprecited as there were almost 100 happpy stargazers - kids and adults alike -  attended the program. The evening started with observing the Orion Nebula (M42) and the Pleiades Cluster (M45). Later the participants were given a short introduction to the night sky including how to find direction using the polar constellations Big Dipper and Cassiopeia and the bright constellations of Orion, Gemini and Leo were identified using a green laser pointer. The program ended by observing Jupiter and its four bright moons around 11:30 pm IST.

    About Me

I am an amateur astronomer from India and doing astronomy since 1989. I have been doing outreach programs for the schools that are deprived of any astronomy facility - donating books, eclipse goggles, and conducting stargazing sessions from time to time.
