The first week of the 2017 Global Astronomy Month celebration in the Philippines was dominated with free telescope viewing (FTV) events. The Philippine local astronomy community is very active in its astronomy outreach and telescope viewing events. Here is a listing of GAM activities for the 2nd and 3rd week:

The 9th day of April has the Manila Street Astronomers (MSA) setting up at the Alabang Town Center to showcase the Moon and Jupiter.

For day 10, we have the Rizal Technological University Astronomy Society conducting a Telescope workshop, and MSA setting up at McDonald’s Antlers for an FTV.

On day 11 we find MSA members Abdur and Sheena at McDonald’s Antlers for their FTV setup. Also on this day members of the Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP) joined up with the Lipunang Pambundok ng Pilipinas (Philippine Mountaineering Society) to conduct an activity entitled Skywatch 2017 – Basic Amateur Astronomy for Mountaineers.

For the 12th day of April we have two FTV setups, one by MSA at McDonald’s Antlers and the other by MSA and ALP member – Christopher Louie Lu – at Jollibee, F. Manalo Branch.

On the 13th day MSA sets up their FTV at Central Mall, Salitran.

On day 14 MSA sets up at Silang, Cavite and at Shell, Moriones, Tondo on the 15th.

For the 16th day we have Christopher Lu setting up for a Solar Hour at Kalentong, Mandaluyong City.

On the 18th of April MSA sets up at the street-side of Central Mall, Salitran for their FTV.
