HI dear astronomers and friends of AWB !
I am happy to see this new, geographical related section in AWB's forum.
Hopefully, a vivid discussion and many events here in Europe will take place.

Best regards
Joe

Hi Joe! Glad to see you starting a discussion here. I knew we could count on you. :)

I was in Europe a couple weeks ago -- in the Canary Islands, part of Spain. I need to write a report on that to share.

I joined earlier today following a posting to the Solar Eclipse Mailing List on YAHOO and thought that this was the sort of group that would accept someone who tries his best to do astronomy but finds himself defeated by that constant bugbear, the British weather (but that said when it does allow, I believe I can match the best of them)

Hi Harry,

I thought your name looked familiar. I've seen it on SEML where I posted the message you saw.

You're one in a long line of victims of the British weather going back, I'm sure, to long before Lord Rosse built the Leviathan.

On AWB you'll be able to see what others are doing in places around the globe with clear skies, at least. Often with some spin on our common hobby that you wouldn't see in Britain.

Good to see you hear. Clear skies, well, when you can get them,

Mike

Which sadly is not as often as I would like them to be. Since I got a digital camera in 2007, there have been seventeen astronomical events that I could have seen. Of those seventeen I have only been able to take photographs of three of them, the solar eclipse of 2008, 2011 and 2015.
