Totality

totalitypoem2

Great plans emerge for the eclipse to come
Anticipation flows as the time grows near.
Many will journey across the land
to the eclipse path they hold so dear.

A glorious show, a cast of sun and moon,
When darkness will seep into day.
The moon will block the sun's true light
Totality! A ring of solar fire on display.

What seems like night will sweep the land
Mere seconds will pass with grace.
The shadow of the moon will soon be gone
as the sunlight returns, to its rightful place.
