GLOBE at Night final tally

The final tally for GLOBE at Night is in!

The final tally is now in from the third international star-hunting activity known as GLOBE at Night. Between February 25th and March 8th, citizen scientists around the world recorded 6,838 measurements of night-sky brightness.

The 2008 campaign received measurements from 62 countries. Just over 4,800 of the measurements came from the United States. Observers in ungary submitted 380 measurements, the most from outside the U.S., followed by Romania, the Czech Republic, Costa Rica, and Spain, all with over 100 observations; Canada was next largest,  with 95 measurements reported.

Mark your calendars for the 2009 GLOBE at Night campaign set for March 16 - 28.  Participation is open to anyone who lives or works in any of the 110 GLOBE countries.   For information visit http://www.globe.gov/GaN/
