Bears can be elusive creatures at this time of year as they prepare to hibernate for winter. The same applies to Ursa Major, the Great Bear constellation, which is hard to observe at this time of year, too. If you live in northern latitudes, you may be able to spot the Big Dipper asterism low against the horizon in the early evening with an unobstructed view. The stars in the Big Dipper form part of the upper back and tail of Ursa Major so you if can see the Big Dipper, you found Ursa Major! Its beary special!
